asos future stylist 2012: clash of the prints.

Hello everyone! Here's my second outfit for Asos Future Stylist 2012, and I have to say that this look was even more challenging than the first! I'm never usually one to wear prints, let alone clashing prints, but as always it was so darn fun to experiment with a look so different to my own personal style. As soon as I spotted the Whistles blouse I instantly wanted to base my whole outfit around polka dots, so thought the spotty heels would make the perfect accompaniment, along with teaming them with these pretty cropped floral trousersI really feel that I have fully embraced the 'clash of the prints theme' and have extremely stepped out of my comfort zone to create an interesting look, and for that I would just love your votes! It would be just lovely if you could vote for me daily, it would mean so much to me to go through to the next round!
Also, like last time, Asos have kindly offered the chance for one of you to win a £25 voucher, so all you have to do to be entered is to vote for me here and comment on this post leaving your email address! I'll announce the winner next week. Love, Jazzabelle.

a brief trip to kolkata.

As promised, here's a random selection of photographs from my recent trip to Kolkata in India! The reason why I visited was to attend a conference on Urban Changes and Culture, alongside other young people from Germany, Africa, India and England. I was selected along with another member of CreateVoice, the young people's forum at the V&A, so it was pretty darn special to be representing both the UK and the museum itself. My time there was spent in discussions focusing on the role of cultural institutions in our local cities and how they can be shaped in the future, discussing issues with experts from around the world, along with going on walking tours and visiting museums, with of course a little free time inbetween! I was unfortunately rather ill throughout the whole trip and visiting Kolkata was quite the culture shock for me, but it was a great experience and I'm so happy I was chosen to attend. It was amazing to meet so many people from different cultures and so fun to spend time with such a lovely group of people.
If you'd like to see some more photographs you can take a peek here, plus if you have any questions regarding the trip or conference please do ask away! Love, Jazzabelle.

Evening all! I arrived back home early this morning after spending just under a week in Calcutta/Kolkata attending a young people's conference on behalf of the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was quite the culture shock, but it was an amazing opportunity and experience, so I'm really happy that I was chosen to take part - I'll be sharing some pictures with you all soon! For now I thought I'd share with you an outfit I wore just before I left, for a quick visit to my local charity shops with my mum. I wore my always favourite secondhand shoes, along with a silk t-shirt, car boot sale bag, my mum's coat and a lovely new pair of jeans. I felt rather elegant in this ensemble I must admit, for me nothing beats a classic all black outfit. Love, Jazzabelle.

I've always wanted to add a little leopard print to my outfits, so as soon as I saw this beret I just knew it would be the perfect way to introduce the pattern in a subtle way. I used to wear berets all of the time throughout secondary school, but only recently have I thought about wearing them more often to add a little something to my outfits. It was quite the apt weather yesterday to debut my new hat - my mum and I went for a little walk around our local park to take a few obligatory pictures in the snow, which has now disappeared from London just as quickly as it came. I hope you all have a lovely week! Love, Jazzabelle.

peppermint tea & some lovely company.

On Thursday afternoon after attending a little blogger event at Aubin & Wills, I popped along with Carrie and Olivia to a lovely vintage shop and café nearby Brick Lane for a cup of tea. Of course being bloggers we spent most of the time taking photographs, but as the decor and details were all so pretty it was hard to resist! I wore a plum Zara dress which you've most likely seen on my blog before, it's still one of my all time favourite secondhand bargains - thank-you to Carrie for the pictures of me! Also, thank-you ever so much for all of your votes, as I've made it through to the next round of Asos Future Stylist! Plus a congratlations to Lyzi who has won the twenty-five pounds Asos voucher.
I've been pretty darn busy recently and will be for the next month or so (attending a young people's conference in Calcutta, stylist work, starting my new job..etc), but I'll be trying to blog as often as possible! Love, Jazzabelle.
